With an interview with designer Javier Cuñado, creator of the Actiu URBAN chair, Spanish professional furniture manufacturer Actiu introduced its URBAN range of chairs: “It is a nice, light and comfortable chair; officially delicate, generous in its proportions, technological and robust”.
What is the most significant characteristic?
It’s main and unique characteristic is that it has a frame that supports multiple interchanges amongst its various components such as: legs, supporting frame, seats and arms etc Therefore triggering a lot of specific configurations for different users.
That structure begins with a cast aluminum frame upon which are added different options of seats and backs, legs and cantilever and finally the arms giving way to countless possibilities.
- We have a concept of an aluminum frame upon which the seat and back rest and which allows the inclusion of four legs and arms. With this concept we build four legged chairs.
- We have a second design concept which places a central support made of injected aluminum underneath the seat frame. With this, we build our seats and benches with central supports.
- Finally there is a third concept developed to create variants of cantilever chairs and without arms. (Only available in monoblock chairs)
