For Spring 2014, KnollTextiles, a division of Knoll, Inc., presents the Empire Collection. Comprised of woven wallcovering, drapery and performance upholstery, this collection has a dynamic range of options for interiors.
KnollTextiles introduces three patterns – Hudson, Durand and Milestone – which all exceed 100,000 double rubs Wyzenbeek and are an excellent choice for hospitality, healthcare and education settings, as well as corporate.
In addition to the bleach-cleanable fabrics, the collection includes Riverside, a graphic striped drapery created with a Trieste yarn, which adds subtle colour variation throughout the pattern, as well as two wall covering patterns, Cortland and Capital.
For a new collection of commercial wall coverings, KnollTextiles approached designer and artist Kari Pei, who created the Nexus Collection.
KnollTextiles’ creative director Dorothy Cosonas said: “Kari Pei is truly an expert at creating a vertical canvas. Her collection for us brings a unique combination of texture and depth to the wall.”
For the Nexus Collection, Kari has created a series of visually textural wall coverings which appears almost three-dimensional, Tangled, Borderline and Overlay.
An important source of inspiration was her own architectural and environmental photography.
